In 1923 their firm, Smith Bros. & Webb Ltd, was credited with building the first ever train wash in the UK, which was the birth of the specialism that Smith Bros. & Webb now excels in today. The Britannia brand was launched in 1944 and today it is globally renowned and a byword for excellence in its field of train and commercial vehicle washing systems. The company moved to Alcester, Warwickshire, in 1969.
